By Road
Chester is about an hour from Manchester, 30 Minutes from Liverpool, 3 hours from Newcastle Upon Tyne and 3 hours from London.
If you’re coming from England or Scotland then you will need to use the M6 motorway. The easiest way to the city is to leave at Junction 21(a) signposted M56 and then follow the signs for Chester Zoo.
By Bus

By Rail
Chester has a very well connected train station. Trains from Manchester run every hour, while trains from London take around 2 hours and are frequent throughout the day. Visit www.thetrainline.co.uk
By Air
Chester is about 45 minutes away from Manchester Airport and 30 minutes from Liverpool airport. If flying into Manchester there is a regular airport train service that will bring you directly to the city. Liverpool is a little harder but there is a regular shuttle bus service to Liverpool South Parkway station. You can then take a train from Liverpool Lime Street to Chester which runs every 30 minutes.
