Inclusivity / Code of Conduct

Inclusivity Policy

We strongly believe that everyone should be able to attend and enjoy CodeMobile regardless of Race, Gender Identity, Ethnic Origin, Sexual Orientation, or Disability. We have teamed with All In, an Accessibility and Safeguarding consultancy to help everybody enjoy the conference without any barriers.

If you have any specific requirements please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and will make changes wherever we can.

Code of Conduct

All attendees, speakers and sponsors at CodeMobile are required to agree with our code of conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We are expecting cooperation from all participants to ensure an enjoyable experience and a safe environment for everybody.

Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Twitter and other online media. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organisers.

What is Harassment?

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other material. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualised clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualised environment.

What to do if you are being harassed

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff immediately. Conference staff can be identified as those wearing orange CodeMobile t-shirts.

Should a member of conference staff not be available you can contact a conference organiser through twitter using the handle @codemobileuk. Direct Message is available to all users at all times!

Conference staff will be happy to offer assistance to anyone who asks for it and all reports will be treated confidentially. This may include taking action within the conference or assisting individuals to get external help from security staff or the local police. We are committed to making sure that everyone enjoys the conference and will do everything we can to ensure this is the case throughout the conference.

The Consequences

If you are asked by a member of conference staff to stop harassing behaviour then you are expected to do so immediately.

If you fail to adhere to our code of conduct then you will be ejected from the conference without a refund at the sole discretion of the conference organisers.
