After finishing a masters in Artificial Intelligence and leaving a boring web-development job, Niels van Hoorn started developing for iOS in 2009. A bunch freelance work, and some own apps later, he developed the iOS apps of NRC one of the biggest newspapers of The Netherlands. Now he is working as a product engineer at Framer, a code based design tool.
Talk: Understanding Artificial Neural Networks
Building a simple machine learning solution.
To most developers Machine Learning algorithms feel a bit like magic. We maybe know how to use them, or that you need a lot of data to train, but have little knowledge of how they actually work.
In this talk we will open up the magic box and build a simple Artificial Neural Network from scratch. Because as the brilliant lecturer and physicist Richard Feynman already noted: “Whay I cannot create, I do not understand”.
